Welcome to my private practice
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I have worked in the field for over 10 years with clients of all ages. My specialties include anxiety (including phobias and performance anxiety), stress management, life transitions, single-incident trauma, and expatriate cultural adjustment. We will collaborate on a treatment plan using evidence-based therapy interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get you back to a fully functional life. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, art, theater and movies.
Testimonials
Dr. Kennard worked with me through a very difficult time when I was dealing with several life-changing transitions. Not only did she give me the tools and strategies I needed to help myself cope with my daily anxieties and emotions, but she created a safe space for me to process all that I was experiencing and feeling. You can tell that Dr. Kennard works hard to understand her clients and where they are coming from in order to provide the best care for their specific needs. I am forever grateful to her for helping me reach where I am today.

Dr. Kennard listened, diagnosed and prescribed a method of therapy that I had never heard of (EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), but completely cured me of a case of stage fright that has spanned almost a decade. As I'm writing this, I have performed four times in front of large audiences and experienced a level of mental focus and exhilaration that I've never felt, but knew existed for other performers. I am so grateful to her for helping me to discover the joy of performing, and would recommend her to anyone who is dealing with anxiety.

I suffer from depression and anxiety and was handling it well on my own until recently. I started seeing Dr. Kennard to help me through my difficult time. I've seen therapists in the past, so I was a little hesitant, but at our first session I felt very comfortable opening up. Dr. Kennard listens with empathy, patience, and has a non-judgmental approach. She suggested "tools" that helped me identify and focus on areas of personal growth and self-care. I'm doing well now and still see Dr. Kennard on occasion. I am grateful for her help and insight.

I was amazed to find that after only a handful of EMDR sessions, the anxiety that I had experienced for 15 years from a traumatic car accident was gone. I can now travel comfortably as a passenger without distress.
